Programme Highlight
Talent management is a challenge to rapid changing banking environment. Working experience is not a sufficient factor to stay at the forefront of the competition edge. An innovative mind to practically apply all the new ideas into banking services so to create unique customer services is required. Mr Cheng will discuss the new IT development trend in the banking industry and why all-rounded talents possessing contemporary technology sensitivity, desired business operations from customer perspective and mature soft skills are needed. This seminar provides a platform for experience sharing between young members and a successful CIO.

Mr Raymond Cheng
Mr Cheng is currently the Chief Technology and Services Officer Hong Kong at HSBC. Raymond has extensive experience in implementing different IT projects and managing sizable IT organizations to support the Bankˇ¦s businesses and operations such as process centralization, operations off-shoring, intelligent front-end systems and Internet services.

In the context of globalization and the evident trend of prioritizing technology and innovation industry in the world, Hong Kong may have no other choice but to transform its economy and develop its technology and innovation sector. In this seminar, the importance of science and technology and how this may affect young IT engineers will be discussed. This seminar provides a platform for experience sharing between young members and a successful IT leader.

Ir Dr. Hon. Samson Tam
Samson Tam is a Legislative Councilor from the functional constituency of Information Technology in the LegCo. He is now a member of Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee and the Small and Medium Enterprises Committee, the Chairman of Hong Kong Trade Development Council ICT Services Advisory Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council. He is also the Chairman of the TechMatrix Research Centre and the founder and Chairman of Group Sense (International) Ltd.

Programme Highlights
This seminar aims to let IT practitioners familiar with the various routes to obtain the professional qualification from Information Discipline of HKIE. The academic and experience requirements and professional assessment of different routes will be discussed. Professional assessment issues including responsible experience, CPD, the assessment approach and key interview skills will be discussed. Experience on preparing and attending the Professional Assessment will be shared by newly enrolled young members. This seminar is suitable to young engineers working in IT related industries who want to become a Professional Information Engineer through HKIE.
Speaker
Ir Dr. C L Chan is chairman of INF Discipline Advisory Panel and an experienced interviewer of conducting Professional Assessment for Information Discipline.
Mr. Albert Chow is currently the Director of Qualifications of the HKIE and the Registrar of the Engineers Registration Board established under the Engineers Registration Ordinance. Ir CHOW has extensive experience in accreditation, training, continuing professional development and international recognition.
